In Nigeria, people with disabilities (PWDs) make up 15% of the population, although they frequently experience systematic marginalization due to insufficient government funding. Even with the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act of 2018 in place, national and subnational budgets usually do not take into consideration the unique needs of PWDs, which makes it difficult for them to access high-quality healthcare, education, infrastructure, and employment opportunities. The goal of this panel discussion is to shift the focus from broad advocacy to specific, quantifiable budgetary change, guaranteeing that PWDs' quality of life and well-being are improved to conform to global norms and best practices.
