About

Amirah Hassan is an event host, facility management professional and governance advocate passionate about strengthening civic participation and leadership across Africa. She is the co-founder of the Citizens Application for Political Participation (CAPP) - a civic-tech platform bridging the gap between citizens and government through access to leaders, public service directories, policy libraries, and civic education resources. She is also the co-founder of Actizen Centre, a non-profit advancing citizen engagement and accountability.

Her work sits at the intersection of governance, civic innovation, and youth participation. Through advocacy initiatives, public education campaigns, and digital engagement, Amirah and her team have reached thousands of Nigerians, empowering them to engage constructively with public institutions and political processes.

A graduate member of the School of Politics, Policy and Governance (SPPG), Amirah has facilitated and moderated over 25 high-level sessions on governance, policy, and development.
She also serves as a facilitator with Learn Politics, where she teaches Political Theories and Ideologies, and with WIMBIZ, mentoring secondary school students on peer influence and personal development.

Beyond governance and civic education, Amirah is the founder of Pro Utility FM, a facility management and technical services company providing sustainable and efficient solutions to corporate, residential and SME clients. Amirah holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and is pursuing a PhD in Power Systems Engineering.
