Gbenga Ogundare

Gbenga Ogundare is a British Chevening scholar, award-winning journalist, disability rights advocate, and publisher of Equality Reporters, Nigeria’s only disability and policy accountability digital news platform.

He has over 20 years of experience in disability-inclusive policy engagement, strategic communication, editorial leadership, and accountability reporting, with expertise in interfacing with development actors, civil society organisations, , and government institutions on inclusive development, governance, and rights-based campaigns.

Gbenga has won prestigious journalism awards including the DAME Judiciary Reporter of the Year (2020) and UNICEF Child-Friendly Reporter of the Year (2016). He also emerged overall winner of the NMMA Etisalat Prize for the Most Innovative Reporter of the Year (2012) and NMMA Political Reporter of the Year (2013). He was also the overall winner of the Bournvita Education Reporter of the Year (2005).
