Hon. Mobolaji Abubakri Ogunlende, fondly known as RAK, is the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development in Lagos State—a passionate public servant whose work blends visionary leadership with deep community commitment. With a strong international background and over a decade of experience in the Oil and Gas sector, he has consistently demonstrated results-driven leadership anchored in service, innovation, and compassion. His humanitarian journey formally began in 2017 with the establishment of the RAK Development Foundation, a platform through which he has championed initiatives aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on education, health, infrastructure, women empowerment, and youth development across Lagos.
A dedicated advocate for young people, Hon. Ogunlende has positioned youth empowerment at the center of his public service mandate. Through scholarships, enterprise support, capacity-building initiatives, and targeted social programs, he has worked to expand opportunities for Lagos youth and strengthen their
ability to contribute meaningfully to the state’s economy. His tenure also reflects a strong commitment to safety and emergency management—overseeing reforms, acquisitions, and strategic upgrades that improved the efficiency of the Fire and Rescue Services and enhanced public awareness of safety protocols.
Today, Hon. Ogunlende stands as a symbol of responsive, people-centered leadership.
