Nigeria’s premier Disability Inclusion Conference, AbilityX 1.0, is set to hold in Lagos as part of activities commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The conference, themed “The Future of Disability Inclusion in Nigeria,” is convened by Project Enable Africa (PEA) in partnership with Jobberman Nigeria, and will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

Speaking on the significance of the event, Mr. Olalekan Owonikoko, Executive Director of Project Enable Africa, described AbilityX as a bold shift from advocacy to action. “AbilityX is about ensuring persons with disabilities are not just beneficiaries of inclusion but active architects of Africa’s inclusive future,” he said. “This conference will explore the intersection of disability, data, technology, and the future of work, showcasing policy innovations, inclusive digital solutions, and emerging assistive technologies.”

AbilityX 1.0 will convene leading voices across sectors to explore thematic areas that are critical to long-term disability inclusion including financial inclusion, employability, entrepreneurship, healthcare, inclusive media, hospitality, and data-driven policy. Confirmed speakers include Kingsley Ezeocha, Head of Sales and Marketing at Hygeia; Dolapo Agbede, Inclusion and DEI Expert; Dipo Adesida, COO of Verdant Zeal Group; Tosin Ishola, COO of Lafiami; among other distinguished leaders.

For Jobberman Nigeria, the partnership reflects its commitment to promoting inclusive growth and enabling persons with disabilities to thrive in an evolving labour market. According to Olamide Adeyeye, Country Head of Programmes at Jobberman, “We are excited to partner with Project Enable Africa in advancing inclusion as we collectively reimagine the future of work for marginalized populations, especially persons with disabilities.”

The AbilityX Conference is set to become an influential platform for driving sustainable partnerships, strengthening disability leadership, and positioning Nigeria as a leader in disability-inclusive innovation. The event will also feature the AbilityX Impact Award, recognising organisations and individuals breaking barriers and advancing disability inclusion across sectors.

AbilityX marks a new chapter in Project Enable Africa’s work, an evolution of its six-year Disability Inclusion and Leadership (DIAL) Forum, which is transitioning from a traditional dialogue platform into a multi-stakeholder, innovation-driven ecosystem dedicated to advancing disability inclusion in Africa.
